Nick Upshall competed in his first hill climb yesterday, taking part in the Catford Hill Classic.
A creditable performance against some top mountain goats, Nick was just pipped by a couple of local riders but was happy with his sub-3 minute performance.
(Nick features in the video at the 1:07 mark - notice the frenetic crowd as he roars past ..)
notice that the stylish riders are all wearing reverse facing caps - take note

ReplyDeleteCWS? - yes Mr Summerfield, a hill climbing legend in his day apparently (on a short enough hill...) - and it was Vicky Pendleton's dad Max who was the winner who stole all the glory
ReplyDeleteHere he is making a return to the event in 2009 Max Pendleton.
Wouldn't it be great to line up CWS against Max in 2012?!
