Top Result - Jo wants no fuss

We're still waiting for Jo's report on this ride from back in September so we decided to nick the write-up from the BC website

"Jess Booth - West Midlands WRT won the final event in the season long Women's Team Race Series in a lunge for the line ahead of Jo Munden - Surrey League and Corrine Hall - Twickenham CC to bring down the curtain on a very good season for this popular series."

"After a fast start in the gorgeous sunshine the race settled down for the next few kilometres; with Surrey League leading the Team series by just 71 points from Twickenham CC it was expected that the race would see these two teams taking the lead in the action and it was with 20 kilometres covered that Surrey went onto the attack over the main hill on the circuit, which meant a few riders lost contact with the race."

"This attack was countered by Twickenham but Surrey again attacked on the downhill section some 6 kilometres later but chased by London Phoenix; another attack was countered by Sara Cramoysan - Team QCP. With 50 kilometres covered a serious attack went with Charlotte Blackman - Surrey League, Kate Calvert and Dorothea Cockeril both of Twickenham; they gained a maximum of 21 seconds but were hauled back after 4 kilometres of freedom by the active bunch."

"Calmness descended on the bunch for a few kilometres but with a long season behind them it was obvious that the depleted bunch would now wait for the final sprint. With 3 kilometres to go the final lunge for the finish was taking shape as the speed went up past the Lount Nature Reserve; over the hill and into the left hand corner the leaders in the bunch went for the line with Jess Booth the stronger."
