Jamie blasts Dunsfold

Tues night with the sun shinning and a light tail wind around the top gear motor circuit.
The mighty VCM midweek team set up camp at Dunsfold for the weekly tear up.
Gentlemen racers of the mighty Keith Brooks, Colin Summerfield, Alan Clarke, Andy Grant and Tony Mott started in the early handicap.
While the aggressors of Ken Prince, Dave Larcombe Ben Macland and Jamie Newall hunted all down starting with the 2nds.
With the wind not playing too much of the part the race came together quite quickly.
Where the clockwork counter attacks are launched!.
A very sprightly Jamie jumped away with two Wildside boys Jason Edwards and Chris McNamara. Taking an even share of 7 laps of the front primes – Although Jamie seemed always to “roll over” first.
The policemen of Dave and Ben were doing a grand job of watching Jamie dangle out in front with his “tired” escapees.
Lincoln and Bec Road races were very hard as Jason and Simon were suffering under Jamie’s rather more aggressive monster turns.

Two laps to go and altogether, a counter, Dave and Jamie get away with a few guys only to be brought back.
On the last lap Chris McNamara goes – Jamie again jumps on the wheel and before you know it 10 second gap appears. A gentlemen agreement to duke it out on the last bend for a bit of through and off – rather than fanny around was decided.
Jamie unleashed a devilish sprint and won by several bike lengths – time to zip up the famous VCM skin suit and salute the masses.
Chris held on for second just as Captain Callard brought the bunch home.
Ben took a cheeky top 10 after some fantastic police work, with Ken just outside.

Dave was frustrated at a racer calling him an idiot while racing – to which Dave replied “He does not even know me” !!
Full services to be resumed next week, come down it’s a right old bun fight.
