Brief report from Warren re the BEC CC race on Sunday
Myself (Warren), Steve Richards, Dave Creeggan (fresh back from Majorca) and Pete Wager raced the 78 mile BEC RR on Sunday in the rather warm conditions. Due to lack of helpers we struggled round with two bottles each, not ideal having to work out how many sips per lap you can afford to have!

For some reason we all managed to miss a move fairly early on containing 7 good riders, so the next time up the hill myself, Gary Dodd, Steve R and Simon Lawn all had the same idea of trying to organise a chase group. We caught up with a further two riders that had themselves tried to bridge a little earlier. We then all settled down to closing a 2min 30 gap.

The Sigma guys already had a team mate up the road, so we were not exactly working that well as a group but we did manage to catch two riders from the group ahead leaving 4 in front with half a lap remaining but with no chance of catching them as they still had over a minute on us. With this Gary Dodd attacked and was shortly followed by Steve. They were in sight of us up the final climb where I countered a move by Simon Lawn and we caught and passed Steve with about 200 metres to go. I beat Simon for 6th, Steve was 8th and Dave C won the gallop from the remnents of the peleton. Pete W wisely pulled out and was kind enough to supply us all with water at the finish, cheers Pete!
